Hazen apple resulted from a cross of the Duchess
and Starking Delicious varieties. The tree of the Hazen apple is a natural
semi-dwarf. By the age of 15 years it should grow only to about 7 to
10 feet in height and about 15 feet in spread. The tree is precocious
and frequently starts fruiting at the age of 3 to 4 years. The fruit
of the Hazen happle is large, up to three inches Zone 3-6 Developed in North Dakota in 1980, apples are large and dark red with green-yellow juicy flesh. Flavor is sweet but mild, pleasant for eating, cooking and as a dessert apple. Annual bearer in late August. |

Shipping begins mid-April once the frost is out of the ground. All plants are shipped bare root from our family nursery in Midwestern Wisconsin. Please understand that commiting to a shipment date before this time frame just is not possible, however, if mother nature is kind and the ground thaws early then the trees will ship early. Every effort is made to ensure the plants you receive are healthy and ready to plant. However, it is impossible to guarantee planting results. Weather, soil conditions, insects and proper planting all play a part in successful growth. We are not responsible for the plants health if you choose to order a plant that will simply not grow or survive in your area based on the pictured zone map. Please order responsibly.
