Bosc Pear tree description

The Beurré Bosc or Bosc is a cultivar of the European Pear (Pyrus communis) grown in the northwestern U.S. states of California, Washington, and Oregon; Australia; as well as in British Columbia, Ontario and Europe, where it is sometimes called Kaiser. Characteristic features are a long tapering neck and russeted skin. Its flesh is denser, crisper and smoother than that of the Williams or D'Anjou pear. It is also known as the "aristocrat of pears"..

Zone 4-8. An old time French variety with large russeted fruit. Bosc has smooth texture that is tender and juicy. Ripens in October. Bosc is a good pollinator.

All pear trees will be available for delivery as bare rootstock unless otherwise noted.

Shipping begins mid-April once the frost is out of the ground. All plants are shipped bare root from our family nursery in Midwestern Wisconsin. Please understand that commiting to a shipment date before this time frame just is not possible, however, if mother nature is kind and the ground thaws early then the trees will ship early. Every effort is made to ensure the plants you receive are healthy and ready to plant. However, it is impossible to guarantee planting results. Weather, soil conditions, insects and proper planting all play a part in successful growth.
