Toka Plum tree description

A unique hybrid plum introduced by N. E. Hansen at the South Dakota Experimental Station in 1911, it is considered to be a superb pollinizer and was included in the test plot for that purpose. Trees are vigorous and fast growing. The medium-sized fruit has a flattened spherical shape and purple-red color resembling an oversized sweet cherry. The fruit is firm, spicy sweet and flavorful and often referred to as the candy plum.

Zone 3-7. Red and of medium size, this is one of the best pollinators for other plums. Richly flavored with apricot colored flesh. Ripens mid August.

All plum trees will be available for delivery as bare rootstock.

Shipping begins mid-April once the frost is out of the ground. All plants are shipped bare root from our family nursery in Midwestern Wisconsin. Please understand that commiting to a shipment date before this time frame just is not possible, however, if mother nature is kind and the ground thaws early then the trees will ship early. Every effort is made to ensure the plants you receive are healthy and ready to plant. However, it is impossible to guarantee planting results. Weather, soil conditions, insects and proper planting all play a part in successful growth.
